SG Controls offers a range of additional components: Proof Test & Rewind Systems, Meters and Gauges, Winders and Coating Systems

 The SG Controls’ range of Draw Towers and Preform Manufacturing systems is complemented by a full suite of accessories.

Bare Fibre Temperature Gauge.

Specialised systems for the draw process include an SG Controls designed and manufactured Bare Fibre Temperature Gauge offering instant and continuous temperature readout for fibre as small as 80 microns.  The Fibre Temperature Gauge is ideal for monitoring the temperature of fibre before the coating system.  The unit may also be incorporated into a Helium cooling system giving closed loop control to maximise the efficiency of the Helium and of course minimise the cost of Helium.

Fibre Winding Systems.

A range of winders from Single Drum to Dual Drum High Speed.  (High speed for SGC is typically 2500m/min line speed.)  All designed to accept industry standard drum sizes.


Proof Test/Rewind.

A range of specialised proof testers for the research laboratory and small production facility

 

SGC Coating System.

Specifically designed for the high speed production towers the SGC Coating system is also very capable of accurate and efficient coating at low speeds on both WOW and WOD systems.

The integrated system has been repackaged and is now offered as an upgrade package for most tower types.


Bespoke Engineering

Engineers and design teams in SG Controls and throughout the Newton Technology Group are always on hand to advise and offer support for any bespoke engineering project. 

 

Technology Transfer

Independent process experts are often the best people to introduce staff to new technology particularly where existing production schedules cannot be compromised.  SG Controls are process experts and can deliver training and technical transitions either at your site or in the Newton Development Labs.  With a full suite of Optical Fibre manufacturing equipment we can train new staff and re train the more experienced in new techniques with disturbing your current process.

For large manufacturing installation projects a full package of technology transfer can be configured to meet the demands of full factory start up.
